Good luck with taper & race

Postby Enduradad on Mon Oct 26, 2009 6:34 pm

I hope that all of you get plenty of rest during taper. Please post your race report after race. I'm considering doing race next year. Thanks

Good luck to yourself as well. I am tapering with no running. Unfortunately I develop a shin splint the last few weeks and it is killing me right now. No stress fracture, thank God.

I just finished the Great Floridian last weekend and I tapered 10 days out. It might have been the hardest part. I did warm-ups the Thur. and Friday before the race.
You're not scared of taper are you?
Looks like the weather will be perfect. We had a record high (93 or 91?) I still have some bad burns so don't forget to pack sun screen just incase.
I'm looking forward to hearing what happens.

Good point about sun screen. Even at 70* you can get burnt riding in the sun for that long.

I was a train wreck last year during the taper. Just remember now is not the time to start to remodeling the house. Rest and be ready for the payoff of all the hard work.
