are mp3 players allowed on run? I haven't received my booklet yet.

This does not look like it is mentioned in the 2009 Athlete Booklet http://www.beach2battleship.com/files/2 ... OOKLET.pdf but headphones on course is a violation of USA Triathlon rules. Since this race is sanctioned by USAT there will be officials on the course so I would advise against any headphone/mp3 devices as it could result in a variable time penalty.

Yep, sure is a rule violation. And ANY rule violation is costly; 1st pop is 6 minutes, then 2nd is 12, and 3rd is either 18 or a DQ! Oh and all those time penalties are cumulative! So when you get your 2nd, you've actually be hit with 18 minutes of time penalties! Thank you USAT!! ;)

I absolutely love this rule for Triathlon, and was sad to see too many (as in more than one) on the run with headphones on Saturday.
Too bad I didn't actually see anyone around that I could actually "tattle" to. :wink:
